      MARSHALL, Texas Clinton C. Foster, 91, of Marshall died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in Marshall.

      Mr. Foster was born July 31, 1917, in Bowie County, Texas. He was a storekeeper and purchasing agent for Texas Pacific Railroad, retired from Fab Steel, a greeter for S&R Auto Sales, former deacon and member of Friendship Baptist Church, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hellon Warrington, on Nov. 7, 1990.

      Survivors include six children, Harold Foster of Hughes Springs, Texas, and Jerry Foster, Ronnie Foster, Veneida Hudson, Sharon Cornelius and Charlotte Woodfin of Marshall; six sisters, Mary Ellen Lewis of Gainesville, Texas, and Sally Jo Mathis, Betty Jean Tefteller, Lurlene Robinson, Murrell Atkisson and Annette Jordan of Maud, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

      Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Downs Funeral Home with the Revs. Carlton Burris and David Rice officiating. Burial will be in Colonial Gardens Cemetery.

      Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
