      Mr. Leon Cooper Mills
      AUBURNDALE - Mr. Leon C. Mills, 90 of Auburndale passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Auburndale due to natural causes. Mr. Mills was born in Winter Garden, Florida and had lived in this area since 1948 moving from Ocala. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and worked with the Polk County School System for 36 years, first, as a High School Teacher and then as the first principal at Caldwell Elementary School in Auburndale. Mr. Mills also worked for Publix for 10 years after his retirement and he enjoyed fishing, golf and watching Gators sports. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mills of Auburndale, daughter, Linda Mills Murphy of Ocala, son, Jim Mills of Arab, Al., stepson, Michael Sanders of Norfolk, Va., 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 11 AM at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Hospice at 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, Fl. 33823.
