James Dale "Jim" Hazelton, 53, of Rocky, OK, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City after a sudden illness. Jim was born to M. V. and Frances ( Hammons) Hazelton, March 5, 1957 at Hobart, OK. After living in Duncan, OK, where he worked for Halliburton as a technical illustrator for several years, he returned to Rocky in 1998. He was an avid gardener and recently had been elected to the Rocky City Council. He was active in the Rocky United Methodist Church, Rocky, OK. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Varnell, his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Carrie Hammons and his paternal grandparents, Naomi and Virgil Hazelton.
Survivors include: his mother, Frances Hazelton, Rocky, OK; his brother Bill and wife Carolyn of Littleton, CO and two nieces, Jennifer Hazelton, Elizabeth, CO and Amanda Hazelton, Littleton, CO
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July15, 2010 at the Rocky United Methodist Church, Rocky, OK with burial to follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK
A family visitation will be held Wednesday evening 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ray and Martha's Funeral Chapel.
