      Brenda Jan Hiseley entered eternal life on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Ok. She entered this life on Sunday, April 4, 1943 in Owensboro, Kentucky to David Samuel and Gladys M. Davis Huff. Jan grew up in Owensboro where she received her education graduating from Owensboro High School in 1961. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Good Samaratian Hospital School of Nursing. While in Phoenix she met, fell in love and married Terry Hiseley on Saturday, August 24, 1963. They moved to the Warner/Muskogee area in 1965. Jan went to work at Muskogee General Hospital as an Emergency Room and Operating Room Nurse. She later went to work for Dr. Port Johnson where she worked at the clinic helping Dr. Johnson with surgeries. Jan came to Checotah and started working for the Parman & Payne Clinic where she became the office manager, a career that spanned over 2 decades. They moved to Checotah from Warner on October 1, 1993. Jan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Checotah where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved kids, playing the piano, sewing and quilting. Jan was always helping others, a very thoughtful and kind person.

      She is preceded in death by her parents. Jan is lovingly survived by her husband of 43 years, Terry, of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Sherri Hiseley and their daughters, Lauren, Ashton and Nicole, all of Muskogee, Ok. Her Sister, Maylene Gann and her husband Ronnie of Kentucky, 2 Brothers, David Huff of Indiana and Denny Hudnall of Florida and many nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends.

      The family will greet friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Garrett-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 25, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Checotah with Reverend Steve Dennis, officiating. Committal prayers and Interment will follow in the Warner Memorial Cemetery, Warner, Oklahoma with her Nephews, Pete Hiseley, Greg Hiseley, Josh Smith, Frank Boydston, Mike Knapp & Bill Knapp serving as Casket Bearers. The family of Jan Hiseley entrusted services to John & Kim Garrett of Garrett ~ Smith Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 311 S.W. Second Checotah, Ok. 74426. (918) 473-2244.
