      1922 - 2007
      Harold Mill, 85, was born to German immigrants Fred & Elizabeth (Ruff) Mill in Wellington, Colorado on January 5, 1922 and passed away, Sunday, July 15, 2007. He joined the Conservation Camp where he served 18 months before joining the United States Army. He served in the Army four years and 6 months. After surviving the attack on Pearl Harbor, he was later stationed at Camp Gruber. Growing up a railroader’s son, he worked for the Midland Valley and Missouri Pacific railroads for 35 years where he retired as an engineer. He was actively involved in the Railroad Union and served as secretary of the local chapter. Being a member of both the DAV and VFW Post 474 for 55 years, he served as post commander, was a member of the Honor Guard and participated in numerous post activities. Harold was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church.

      He precedes his parents, wife Laura, stepdaughter Linda Todd and brother Fritz Mill and sister Lilly Jolly. He leaves behind wife Hazel, children Glenn Mill of Jenks and Jo Ann Perry of Fort Gibson, sister Irene Edmonds of Cheyenne, Wyoming, brothers Everett of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Gene of Fort Collins, Colorado, Robert of Denver, Colorado, grandchildren Traci Huggins, Jeff Mill, Jennifer Butterfield, April Huggins and Terrie Friedl, great-grandchildren Baylor and Jake Butterfield and Tiffany Friedl.

      A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Rusty Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Tom Allen, George Shimoon, John Everitt, Ken Webb, John Harrison and J. C. Hood, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Honor Guard is provided by VFW Post 474.
